New product lunch

Teamstand helps teams organize messy workflows, documents, and conversations pulled from unstructured emails, powered by a smart Chrome extension.

As the platform became more customizable, relying on engineers for every client update created major delays. We came onboard to design a self-service interface that put configuration tools directly in users’ hands, so no devs needed!

The new self-service interface gave Teamstand users real control, so no developers required. What used to take days now takes minutes. Clients can spin up new configurations with confidence, while internal teams enjoy reduced support burden. The system is easier to scale, easier to sell, and measurably more client-friendly.

Teamstand helps Customer Success teams stay on top of scattered communications and files. But until recently, all configuration had to go through a Product Development Lead and engineer – from creating new business areas to defining field types and workflow rules. This bottleneck slowed onboarding and left users dependent on Teamstand’s internal team for basic updates.

We were brought in to design a self-service interface that gave users (especially business analysts and client-facing PDLs) full control to configure their own setup: users, roles, fields, request layouts, even app logic.

The goal was to minimize internal Ops load while maximizing client autonomy.

The design approach was centered around modularity, permission control, and clarity. Through early prototypes, hands-on user testing, and iterative feedback sessions, we identified where users felt friction and which terminology needed clearer explanations.

We simplified complex workflows, grouped related actions logically, and introduced safeguards to prevent critical misconfiguration.
