ResearchHub is a platform built to change how science is shared – faster, more open, and built around real collaboration. From token-based tipping to topic-specific hubs, the product encourages researchers to build in public and move science forward.

We helped shape its early MVP and designed systems that reward contribution, simplify publishing, and make research more accessible.

Research papers, questions, and posts are surfaced through community upvotes, tags, and rewards – giving scientists a faster way to share, discover, and collaborate.

ResearchHub gave scientists a faster, fairer way to share ideas and earn recognition. With ResearchCoin mechanics, collaborative hubs, and intuitive publishing tools, the platform created an ecosystem where knowledge grows in public. It continues to evolve with its user base – proving that open, incentivised collaboration can push research forward.

We started by identifying the biggest barriers in academic publishing – slow timelines, closed access, and lack of incentives for peer engagement. Inspired by platforms like GitHub, ResearchHub’s team set out to create an open environment where researchers could share, discuss, and improve ideas together.

Our focus was on building an interface that felt intuitive for scientists but supported advanced features like token rewards, public discussion threads, and citation tracking. We designed the MVP to highlight core actions: publish work, give feedback, and earn ResearchCoin (RSC) for contributing value.

Reference Manager interface with nested folders, allowing researchers to organise, search, and manage citations by topic – all within the ResearchHub ecosystem.

A view with abstract, tags, and discussion tabs – making it easy to explore, engage with, and contribute to scientific content.

Community input shaped everything. We ran usability testing with early users, gathering feedback on how content should be grouped, surfaced, and rewarded. This led to the introduction of Hubs – evolving collections of papers and discussions around a single topic.

We also built systems for tipping, bounty creation, and transparent upvoting, integrating them natively into the UX. The goal was to make contributing feel rewarding, not laborious.

To support long-term growth, we established modular UI components that could support future features like analytics dashboards, mobile support, and deeper moderation tools – all while keeping the interface clean and focused.
